From a *late* postion how many of you do you call a big blind or a soft raise with say 8-9 spade or say 9-10 diamonds?

I might call a small raise if the game is short-handed, otherwise, in a full ring, it's an excellent hand to limp in with.

If you're first in it's raise or fold. If there are limpers in front of you it's a limp. If there's a min-raise in front of you and callers it's a call. If there's a substantial raise in front of you without callers it's a fold unless you know that 1) you can outplay the villain, and 2) his stack is big enough to make the long shot worth pursuing.

Isn't poker simple?
